This course is an intensive field research courses in Spain. It incorporate lectures, field practices and an independent research project onsite.
The course is spread over two weeks and structured into three modules:
- The first module introduces students to field methods and data analysis and includes 4 full days of theoretical and practical lessons in both the field
and lab. Students will learn the latest techniques in field methodologies and will use the most recent analytical and instrumental tools.
- The second module consists of 6 full days to develop an independent research project in the field with guided tuition. The project will be chosen in
advance within a list of several proposals and students can also add their own ideas. To help improve the research projects, students will discuss
projects with the instructor and will receive assistance during his or her experience. They will put into practice the background acquired in the first
module.
- The third module covers 2 full days of lessons on statistical data analysis, academic writing and oral presentations and concludes with the students’
presentation of their research projects.
The courses also include two free days for optional excursions, giving the chance to discover some of the amazing places that Spain has to offer.
Requirements:
This program is open to students who are currently studying or have recently finished a degree or master’s degree program at any university or educational centre. Courses are interesting for students of any natural sciences discipline such as biology, ecology, environmental sciences or environmental management. Courses are taught in English. The level of English language in use will be adapted to the group’s general level, nonetheless maintaining the quality of
the lessons. Students must have notions of English language.
