The Lower Saxony State Museum Oldenburg and the regional Oldenburg-Friesland group of the German Society of Herpetology and Terrarium Science are organising the 52nd Annual Meeting on Herpetology and Terrarium Science, including the German Herpetologist Day. The meeting will occur from September 28th to October 2nd, 2016 at the State Museum of Nature and Man in Oldenburg, Germany.
For your planning, please note that on 28 September, there will be a casual icebreaker only (you pay for your own drinks) and that the talks will only start the other day. That is, on 29 to 30 September there will be strictly scientific talks from all fields of Herpetology, both in English and German. From 01 to 02 October, there will be the herpetocultural part of the meeting with almost all talks in German.
On Thursday night, for the first time in the history of DGHT meetings a Science Slam will be organised. Various scientists will give here, in just ten minutes, short presentations of their research in an entertaining and accessible way. The audience chooses the best presentation, which will be honored with a prize.
Participation in the conference is free for DGHT members. For non-members the daily fee is 40 Euros (25 for students). A delegate rate for drinks and pastries is included.
The following additional optional costs may arise:
Excursions on 30 September:
(1) Walk across the mudflats (20 EUR)
(2) Hasbruch Nature Reserve (20 EUR)
(3) Participation in the social evening on 01 October at Ratskeller restaurant (25 EUR, drinks excluded).
