The herbarium of the University of Montpellier (MPU), is a research plate-forme as well as a heritage site. It contains approximately 3 millions specimens of vascular plants, algae, mosses and dried mushrooms. It also includes more atypical collections (drugstore, xylotheque, etc.) as well as documentary collections related to the specimens (handwritten notes by botanists and researchers, scientific iconography such as botanical watercolors. 1,4 millions images are currently available on the national portal "RECOLNAT".
