CETAF has received the evaluation results of its Horizon Europe proposal TETTRIX, which achieved an outstanding final score of 14.5 out of 15 and has been successfully selected for funding. This represents a remarkable achievement for the CETAF community and an important milestone for the organisation.
Following the positive evaluation, the European Commission has invited the consortium to start the grant preparation phase. The project will receive a total budget of almost €12 million and will run for 48 months.
TETTRIX was submitted under the Horizon Europe Cluster 6 topic “strengthening taxonomic approaches for biodiversity”. Cluster 6 focuses on Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment. This topic refers to dedicated calls that fund projects to modernise and expand Europe’s capacity in taxonomy—supporting, for example, digital tools and infrastructure, the integration of citizen science, training for taxonomists, and stronger links between taxonomy, policy, and biodiversity conservation. These calls are often connected to the Biodiversa+ partnership and aim to improve how biodiversity is understood and monitored.
This new project opens the door to an exciting and motivating phase for CETAF. It offers a valuable opportunity to advance CETAF’s strategic objectives and to further strengthen its community, making it more cohesive, comprehensive, and impactful.
CETAF looks forward to working collaboratively with its partners as TETTRIX moves into the next phase, helping to support taxonomy and biodiversity research across Europe.
