1. Postdoctoral Position in Geology and Geochemistry

Leaching behaviour of arsenic rocks
🕒 Application deadline: 11 November 2025, 23:59 (CET)

The Department of Geosciences at NRM invites applications for a three-year postdoctoral position focusing on the leaching behaviour of arsenic-bearing rocks. The project seeks to deepen understanding of how arsenic leaches from bedrock and spreads into the environment, with implications for environmental protection and public health.

The successful candidate will design and execute leaching experiments, characterise rock and mineral samples using microscopy techniques, and perform geochemical modelling. The project is conducted in collaboration with Stockholm University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, and is fully funded by FORMAS, the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development.

This position offers the chance to contribute to applied research that supports sustainable construction practices and enhances environmental risk assessment in geological contexts.

📍 Location: Stockholm
💼 Contract: Full-time, 3 years
💰 Salary: 34,000–40,000 SEK/month (depending on experience)
📄 Reference number: 646-2025

2. Research Fellowship in Data-Driven Evolution and Biodiversity

🕒 Application deadline: 15 November 2025, 23:59 (CET)

As part of the prestigious SciLifeLab and Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS), NRM is recruiting a DDLS Fellow in Data-Driven Evolution and Biodiversity. This tenure-track fellowship aims to foster innovation in computational approaches to understanding biodiversity and ecosystem change.

The selected Fellow will develop and apply machine learning, AI, and other computational methods to analyse large-scale biological datasets, such as genomic, metagenomic, and imaging data. This position forms part of Sweden’s national effort to build world-class expertise in data-driven life sciences, supported by a long-term investment from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

The DDLS Fellow will receive a five-year recruitment package of 17 million SEK, covering salary and research resources, and will join an interdisciplinary network of scientists across Sweden dedicated to advancing computational biology and biodiversity research.
