The CETAF Scientific Research Group (SciReG) is organising an online seminar exploring the opportunities, methods and challenges associated with museomics and taxonomy in the genomic era.
Taking place on Wednesday, 18 November 2026, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET, the 90-minute session will bring together experts in ancient DNA and museomics to discuss how DNA can be recovered and analysed from historical museum specimens.
The seminar will address the methodological challenges involved and explore how these approaches can contribute to research in taxonomy, systematics, evolution, conservation and biodiversity.
Speakers
Dr Carola Greve
Senckenberg Nature Research
Prof. Dr Michael Hofreiter
University of Potsdam
Registration
The seminar will take place online. Participation is free, but prior registration is required.
About SciReG
