The Distributed System of Scientific Collections we all know as DiSSCo closed its transition phase in Leiden, this 1st of April, with a Wrap-up Event organised at Naturalis Biodiversity Center.
The DTP Wrap-Up Event has been the right moment to share the lessons learned throughout this 18-month transition project given the construction of the European Research Infrastructure, which is DiSSCo’s goal.
The day included a roundtable discussion, moderated by Ana Casino (CETAF Executive Director), featuring five National Node representatives (namely Belgium, Denmark, France, the Nederlands and United Kingdom) who offered their unique perspectives looking ahead to the critical upcoming period of the DiSSCo development known as the Construction Phase. During the hour dedicated to the discussion, two major topics were addressed. On the one hand, the Representatives explained what makes their National Node unique, reflecting on their national specificities. On the other hand, they briefly addressed the upcoming construction phase to explore the crucial components in preparation for joining the DiSSCo ERIC (technical, organisation, financial, etc.).
On April, 2nd, the 7th Interim General Assembly opened the day to handover the governance to the DiSSCo Interim General Assembly, chaired by Edwin Van Huis, the ultimate governance body of DiSSCo becoming an ERIC. Fancy to know more? Visit https://www.dissco.eu/dissco/governance/
