The European Journal of Taxonomy (EJT) will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a special symposium on 8 October 2026 at the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales in Madrid. CETAF, which was involved in the journal’s foundation, is pleased to share this event with its community.
How to liberate, find and reuse taxonomic data from scientific publications?
The symposium will explore how taxonomic knowledge published in scientific literature can be transformed into reusable FAIR data, as well as its practical applications and potential role in research assessment.
The programme will feature four presentations addressing the following questions:
- What does liberating data from publications mean?
- How can liberated taxonomic data be discovered?
- What does a concrete use case look like?
- How can liberated data support research assessment through metrics?
Participation is free, but registration is mandatory.
