Course description :
To convey the basic techniques necessary for students to independently create visual graphics to supplement their studies and scientific research.
After a preliminary introduction to science illustration techniques students will be given access to traditional illustrator’s tools. Which the use is facilitated by observational drawing exercises and by practicing basic graphic concepts (perspective, volume, lighting…). They will also be guided during the use of stereo-microscopes with drawing tubes (camera lucida) and they will learn 2D graphics software tools useful for figures compositing. Personal attention is assured for each student.
