The fourth iteration of the SYNTHESYS projects started on February 1st 2019, this time with CETAF as a partner.
One key component of the projects was the provision of transnational access to natural history collections. This has not changed with the new project, SYNTHESYS+. Along with the start of the project the first call for physical access was launched as well on 1 February 2019.

The 44th Meeting of the CETAF Governing Board, hosted perfectly by the Plant Science and Biodiversity Centre, Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava took place on the 14th and 15th of November 2018.
At the meeting, taxonomy and research themes took centre stage, as the main focal point of several discussion threads. This was highlighted by a special, dedicated workshop on the "CETAF vision for taxonomy and systematics research in 2030”.

In the wake of the tragedy that occurred at the Museu Nacional in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in September 2018, when a fire devastated large parts of the museum and collections, CETAF has received a passionate plea for help from the museum's department of vertebrates.

The upcoming 44th Meeting of the CETAF Governing Board will take place on 14-15 November 2018 at the Plant Science and Biodiversity Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratsilava, Slovakia.
Director Anna Beresova and CETAF Chair Michelle J. Price are inviting CETAF Directors and representatives, and other invited guests, to join the meeting.

ICEDIG, a European project with strong involvement from CETAF and its member institutions, promotes innovation and consolidation in digitisation of Natural History Collections by making its project results openly available for all interested readers.
New outcomes will be published intermittently on the ICEDIG website and other Academic Social Networks such as ResearchGate or Zenodo as soon as they become available.
