The Society for Conservation Biology's International Marine Conservation Congress (IMCC) brings together conservation professionals and students to develop new and powerful tools to further marine conservation science and policy.

The Contribution of Botanical Gardens to Ecological Restoration and Restoring Natural Capital
The British Ecological Society and the French Ecology Society celebrate a joint conference which will bring together for the first time ecologists of the two countries. The aim of the conference will promote exchanges and debates on major advances in scientific ecology, and strengthen cooperation between the French and British researchers of tomorrow..
The theme of the meeting is Applications and Data Standards for Sustaining Biodiversity. Subprograms will include: Applications, Semantic Technologies, Capacity Building, Phyloinformatics, Outreach and Collaboration, ePublications, Trait Data.
This one-day event aims to share perspectives and efforts devoted to build a virtual laboratory for biodiversity research. BioVEL will also present their plans for the future, based on the experience gained and the results obtained from this project conceived as a pilot implementation of some of the core ideas from the LifeWatch Preparatory Phase. In the past three years BioVEL has worked with the biodiversity research community to construct, test, and revise some essential elements of a robust e-infrastructure for biodiversity and ecosystem research.
Addressing the theme of Data Sharing and Integration for Global Sustainability, SciDataCon 2014 will feature four main tracks: (A) Dynamic Planet, (B) Global Development, (C) Transformations Towards Sustainability, and (D) Data Science and Services. This structure is intended to bridge cross-cutting data themes and research themes of Future Earth, an international research programme on global sustainability coordinated by ICSU and its partners and starting in 2015.
Biodiversity for Sustainable Development
- To raise international awareness about the essential role of biodiversity and its contribution to sustainable development.
- To put strong emphasis on biodiversity at the discussions of Post-2015 Development Agenda and setting of Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs).
The second Pan-European Stakeholder Consultation Meeting (PESC-2) for IPBES (Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) is organised by the Swiss Biodiversity Forum with the support of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), and in collaboration with other European Platforms (e.g. NEFO Germany, Belgian Biodiversity Platform, JNCC UK, FRB France, Plataforma Portuguesa da IPBES.
Objectives of the meeting are to:
a) inform on what has been and is going on in IPBES, and how to participate in the current work programme
