This GRID-Warsaw Conference in Warsaw, which is held in the light of its 25th Anniversary, is being organised together with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The main theme revolves around the state, changes and threats (hot issues) for the pan-European continent, as has been mentioned in the latest UNEP report from June 2016, which was published as part of the Global Environment Outlook framework presented to the Environment Ministers conference on June 8, 2016 in Batumi, Georgia.

The African Centre for DNA Barcoding, and the University of Johannesburg will be hosting the 7th International Barcode of Life Conference from 20 - 24 November 2017. This is the first time that this event will be held on the African continent and the venue chosen is the Nombolo Mdhluli Conference Centre, Skukuza, located within the heart of African wildlife, the Kruger National Park, South Africa.
The Royal Dutch and Belgian Zoological Societies will be hosting jointly the 23th edition of the Zoology Congress on 16 and 17 December 2016 at the University of Antwerp.

The International Conferences on Research Infrastructures (ICRI) will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 3 to 5 October 2016. The conferences will be co-organised by the South African Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the European Commission.
