In the wake of the CETAF43 General Meeting at the Natural History Museum, London, a special workshop will be dedicated to the issue of “Implementation of Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) Legislation” on Friday 27th April 2018.

During the workshop, participants of the 43rd General Meeting will be given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the legislative themes pertaining to the provisions of the Nagoya Protocol involving the Access and Benefit-Sharing arising from the use of genetic resources, and how this affects practices at natural science institutions. With the help of the CETAF ABS Code of Conduct and Best Practices, CETAF representatives present at the workshop will be discussing how their home institutions can implement these guidelines as to render scientific practices more fair and sustainable within the framework of conducting responsible research in the natural history sciences.
