Event review: Infoday EU Research Infrastructures

Tuesday, 22 December, 2015

The CETAF Secretariat has attended the last Information session on the new Work Programme 2016-2017 on Research Infrastructures from the EU DG Research & Innovation.

The Work Programme was outlined in detail and special attention was given to specific topics and calls regarding e-Infrastructures and Open Science. The novelty, and perhaps the most important idea to keep in mind is that the WP is divided into 3 main themes:

  1. integration and consolidation of already existing e-infrastructure platforms
  2. creation of new innovative e-infrastructure platforms and services
  3. support to policy and international cooperation

Then followed presentations on Horizon2020 participation rules, the EU Participant Portal, Open Access, Data Management, and the Open Research Data Pilot. The session ended with the description of specific features of e-infrastructure calls.

All presentations were followed by Q/A sessions and the recently launched Digital4Science platform was often mentioned as an online mean for the exchange of information.
