Event review: First BEDIC workshop “Data Matters"
The Biodiversity & Ecosystems Data and Information Centre (BEDIC) from the OD Nature of the Royal Belgian Institute for Natural Sciences (RBINS) has organised its first workshop on the 7th December 2015.
The organisers wanted to reach interested RBINS staff (scientists, IT, managers) to discuss topics related to data, and to explore how BEDIC could assist them in terms of data management planning and support. After shorts presentations on BEDIC, data management planning, and examples of data management activities, a session was organised to discuss those topics. People were divided in small groups and were requested to recount about their own experiences, and to answer questions on the challenges and solutions in the field of data management.
The workshop gathered 26 people and was followed by poster sessions and demonstrations.
